Dr. Ahlam Dahl

Founder and CEO of "Ma'ak" Foundation

Misk Leader 2030, Radiation Oncologist

A consultant specializing in radiation oncology, I believe that the journey of cancer is more than just medical treatment; it is a psychological and social challenge that encompasses both the patient and their family. Through my experience gained both within Saudi Arabia and internationally, I have realized that the success of treatment is not limited to providing medical care, but extends to include psychological and social support, which makes a real difference in helping the patient regain their life and future.

Throughout my career, I have closely witnessed the pain experienced by patients and their families, and I have seen how emotional and humanitarian support can ease the burden of the experience and restore hope. This is where my passion for providing comprehensive care beyond traditional medicine was born, aiming to empower patients to regain their psychological and physical strength, and to provide families with the necessary tools to support their loved ones during this journey.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery – King Faisal University

  • Master’s in Executive Health Administration – University of Alabama
  • Graduate of the Misk Leadership Program 2030 – Esade Business School
  • Saudi Leadership Society
  • Honored to be the first Arab woman and the first from the Middle East to be nominated for the “Inspiring Physician in Cancer Care 2024” award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), a recognition that reflects my passion and efforts in improving the lives of cancer patients and enhancing their chances of recovery.

My belief in the importance of psychological and social support led me to establish the “Ma’ak” non-profit foundation, to be a comprehensive platform serving cancer patients and their families. “Ma’ak” is not just an initiative, but a supportive community aimed at empowering patients to overcome their daily challenges and regain their dignity and hope. We provide services that range from psychological and social support, health education, and empowering families to be an active part of the recovery journey.

My vision is for “Ma’ak” to be with every patient and family in their journey, not only to treat the disease but to achieve complete healing that restores their life. I aim to help them transform their cancer journey into an experience filled with solidarity, understanding, and positive growth.

I believe that psychological and social support is an integral part of the recovery journey, and that through joint efforts, we can turn the hardest challenges into a new opportunity for growth and strength.

My mission is to make a difference in the life of every patient and family by building an integrated support system based on empathy, understanding, and development. I strive for every patient to feel they are not alone in their journey, and to find in “Ma’ak” the support that helps them face challenges and achieve true healing in all its dimensions
